Fashion visual search API

What the search does today
Outfit Lens is a free Chrome extension and ChatGPT app. A shopper shares a photo, and Outfit Lens:
- picks out clothing items in the photo separately — tops, bottoms, shoes, bags and accessories (14 detection categories);
- returns visually similar products for each item, matched by style rather than brand.
Results are similar options, not copies of the exact item in the photo.
What the API would do
The same search, run over your own product catalog. You'd send a photo and get back the closest matches from your products. It could power features like "find similar" on a product page or search by photo in your app. None of this exists yet — that's what the waitlist is for.
What it finds well, and what it doesn't
It works better on some clothing types than others, and it doesn't always find every item in a photo. We'd rather tell you that now than after you build on it.
